Gerald "Gary" D. Miller, 76, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away May 9, 2021 at his home.
Born January 3, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Lyle and Lois (Thomas) Miller. He was raised on his parent's farm east of Winfield and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1963. He then attended Cowley County Community College and graduated in 1965. Shortly after school, Gary began his career with Boeing Aircraft Company.
He was married to Sherry Olds in 1969 in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Winfield before moving with Boeing to Everett, Washington. In 1973, they returned to Winfield and moved to a farm in the Tisdale community east of Winfield. Sherry and Gary had three children and later divorced.
Gary was united in marriage to Nadyne Scheck in 1998. The couple lived on the family farm east of Winfield. Nadyne preceded him in death on April 5, 2016.
He retired from Boeing with over 38 years of service. Gary enjoyed raising cattle, gardening, cutting wood, pulling weeds, and being outdoors on the farm. He also enjoyed reading, and watching Nascar.
His family includes his sons, Gary Miller and wife, Melanie of Centerville, OH; Richard Miller and wife, Mary Roes of Portland, OR; his daughter Wendi Price and husband, Jeremy of Nixa, MO; his sister Beverly Neal and husband, Jim of Winfield; his grandchildren, Treyton Miller, Serenity Miller, and Justin Miller; and his great grandchildren, Adley Miller and Iva Miller.
In addition to his parents and wife, Nadyne, Gerald was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald L. Miller.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Inurnment at Tisdale Cemetery will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Gary's name for the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
