Rubadeau, Jr.
October 4, 1947 – May 12, 2024
George C. Rubadeau, Jr., 76, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, May 12, 2024, at Villa Marie in Mulvane.
Born October 4, 1947 in Bennington, Vermont, he was the son of George C. Sr., and Hazel (Slavin) Rubadeau. He was raised and received his education in Vermont, graduating high school from Burr & Burton Academy in 1965. He then began classes in accounting school before being drafted into the United States Army. George proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from Vietnam, he was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas where he met Doris Kessler.
He was united in marriage to Doris Kessler on February 14, 1970 at the Udall Church of the Nazarene. The couple made their first home in Udall. In 1984, the family moved to Kansas City, Kansas where George began his career at Mid Central Sysco. He worked there for over 25 years, serving as the Beverage Manager for many years and retiring in 2009. After retirement, George and Doris returned to Udall.
He was a member of Udall Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed mowing lawns and "doing projects" for friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed woodworking, building several beehives.
His family includes his wife Doris Rubadeau of Udall; his daughter Lorie Wing and husband, William of Olathe; his brother Richard Rubadeau and wife, Nancy of South Dorset, VT; his half-brother Donald Dorr of Manchester, VT; and his grandson Brandon Rubadeau of Basehor.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son William J. "BJ" Rubadeau.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Udall Church of the Nazarene under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Udall Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in George's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
