Geneva "Neva Jo" Donlay, 79, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2019 at Medicalodges in Arkansas City.

Born January 2, 1940 in Arkansas City, she was the daughter of Fred and Edith (Saner) Richardson. She attended Arkansas City High School. Geneva was united in marriage to Gilbert Oliver Donlay on July 21, 1972. The couple made their home in the Lake Of The Ozarks and Eldon, Missouri. They had a special place in their hearts and fostered troubled children. Over the years, they fostered 153 children, and adopted the last three children they fostered. In 1989, they moved their family to Arkansas City. Gilbert preceded her in death on November 14, 2014.

Her family includes her sons, Vernon Lawrence of Kaiser, MO; David Donlay of Enid, OK; Michael Donlay of Dallas, TX; Bobby Donlay of Arkansas City; her grandchildren, Matthew and Aiden Donlay, Colton and Cannon Donlay, Blayke and Bree Donlay, Christian Scott, and Cassandra Donlay; and her sisters, Margaret and Betty.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The family will hold private memorial services at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Geneva's name for Medicalodges in Arkansas City. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
