Gayle Buchele, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 12, 2023, at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born November 29, 1938, in rural Cedar Vale, Kansas, she was the daughter of Rollin and Olive (Mills) Ramey.  Gayle grew up on a farm near Cedar Vale with her sister.  She graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1956.

She married Johnny "Joe" Randel in 1955 and they welcomed children, Clay and Judy.  The couple later divorced.  She was united in marriage to Marvin Buchele on June 21, 1976, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple made their home in Winfield where Gayle worked in various secretarial positions, until retiring from Snyder Clinic in 1982.  After retirement, Gayle enjoyed spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren.

Her family includes her husband Marvin Buchele of Winfield; her daughter Judy Powell of Burden; her cousin Susan Hiebert of American Falls, ID; and her grandchildren, Hayden, Ethan, Ashley, and Garret.

In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her son Clay and her sister Reva.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday morning, September 15, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Gayle's name for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
