FREDA B. UNDERWOOD, 94, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society.

Born July 16, 1919 in Grenola, Kansas, she was the daughter of Ira and Ann (Mayer) Underwood. She was raised and received her education in Grenola.

Freda worked at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center for over 24 years in the laundry department. She retired in 1986. She taught Sunday school for 30 years. She loved children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ann Underwood and 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at noon on Tuesday until service time.

A Memorial has been established in Freda's name for Heartland Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
