Freda Irene "Peggy" Conrad, 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, March 16, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Peggy Conrad was born February 8, 1926 to Floyd B. and Ruth L. (Lacy) Davis on a farm near Mayfield, Kansas. She attended school at Milan and Mayfield, before graduating from Winfield High School in 1944.
Peggy married Denzil L. Conrad on June 11, 1946 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. She was employed as an Operator for Santa Fe Railroad and as a Switchboard Operator at William Newton Memorial Hospital. She retired from Winfield State Hospital and Training Center after 22 years of service. Denzil preceded her in death on August 30, 2015.

Her children: Jerry Conrad and wife, Edna of Winfield; Joyce Parson and husband, Wesley of Oxford;
Her grandchildren: Jason Conrad; Kyle Conrad and wife, Sherry; Kevin Conrad and wife, Amanda; Kirk Conrad; Kody Conrad and wife, Jennifer; Denise Moser and husband, Rex; and
Her great grandchildren: Andrynn, Abbiah, Samantha, Eden, Rebecca, Staci, Stephanie, Maddalyn, Xander, and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denny Conrad, her parents, Floyd and Ruth Davis, her siblings, Floyd Davis, Jr. and Norma Gordon and a granddaughter, Cathy Denise.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Peggy's name for First Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
