Franklin Robert Batchman, 72, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2019 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center.

Born January 31, 1947 in Wichita, he was the son of Franklin Fredrick and Margaret Ann Lyman (Ely) Batchman. He was raised and received his education in Wichita. Frank joined the United States Marines on April 5, 1967. He proudly serviced his country until his honorable discharge on April 2, 1971. He worked in many capacities including in bakeries, truck driving and welding. He worked at Boeing Aircraft for many years.

Frank was a member of Mount Olivet Methodist Church in Wichita. He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed fixing anything with a motor, working with jewelry.

His family includes his sons, John Batchman of Wichita; Freddy Batchman and wife, Christina of Wichita; Steven Batchman and wife, Renee of Wichita; his brother Duane Batchman and wife, Shirley of Colorado; his sisters Janice Bruce of Pretty Prairie; Joneitha Hamby of Coffeyville; and his grandchildren, Ivan, Sierra, Jaden, Mariah, and Lani.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Batchman.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment and Military Committal Honors will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M.

A memorial has been established in Frank's name for the VA Hospice Unit in Wichita. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
