Obituary

Frank E. Theimer, 84, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday evening, November 24, 2015 at his home.

Born August 15, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Benjamin and Hannah (Brauer) Theimer. He was raised and received his education in Oklahoma City. Frank joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country as a Boson Mate during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after four years of service.

Mr. Theimer was united in marriage to Ruth M. Ring on September 6, 1952 in Bakersfield, California. The couple made their first home in Ridgecrest, California. They ranched in the Rio Grande Valley from 1954 until 1962. They then moved to Winfield to farm and lived there until 1993 when they moved to West Yellowstone, Montana. While in Montana, they owned the Flying T Trading Post, specializing in guns, coins and fine antiques 13 years. They retired to Oklahoma City.

He was a member of the NRA, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and a founding member of the Confederate Airforce. He enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing and farming.

His family includes:

His sons: Ben Theimer of Winfield, KS; Karl Theimer of West Yellowstone, MT;
His daughters: Ingrid Setser of Oklahoma City, OK; Esther Kisner of Arkansas City, KS; Fritzie Glander of Broken Arrow, OK;
His sisters: Gretchen Hovda and Ruth H. Theimer; and
His grandchildren: Elizabeth Theimer, Daniel Theimer, Sarah Theimer, Rachel Verwer, Laurel Karousatos, Sharon Kisner, Matthew Glander, and Sonya Glander.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Theimer, Jr. and sister, Esther Theimer.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private interment will take place at Rose Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Frank's name for the Salvation Army. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
