Obituary

FRANCES LORRAINE "TOOTSIE" HARRIS, 74, wife of Carl Leroy "Roy" Harris, went home to the Lord on May 9, 2012.

Tootsie was born October 12, 1937 in Fredrick, Maryland to John Russell and Fanny Mae (Breeden) White. She was united in marriage to Roy on November 14, 1955 in Westernport, Maryland.

Tootsie retired from the family business, Carl Harris Co., Inc. in Wichita, Kansas in 2008, after serving twenty years as the company's receptionist. Before becoming a receptionist, she worked as a waitress at the Mel's Café and the Honey Tree Restaurant in Winfield.

Frances was one of the founding members of the New Hope Fellowship Church in Winfield. She was loved and cherished by her church and family.

She is survived by:
Her husband of over 56 years: Roy Harris of Winfield;
Her daughter: Terri Wells and husband, Gary R. Jr. of Winfield;
Her son: Carl L. Harris and wife, Lori of Newton, KS;
Her grandsons: Donald "Donnie" Wilson and his children, Haylee and Kaci of Winfield and Lane of Haysville; John Wilson and his children, Dawson and Christian of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Aspen of Winfield; Robert "Bobby" Wilson and expectant son, Rhys of Lenexa, Kansas; and C. Taylor Harris of Newton, Kansas.

Tootsie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fanny Mae, as well as her siblings John Russell White "Jr." and Melvin "Bob" Thomas White.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Pastor Ted Brown will officiate. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 9 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Tootsie's name for her church, New Hope Fellowship Church in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
