FLOYD L. 'BUD' LOWE, 95, former Burden, Kansas resident, passed away Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007 at the Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.
Born on June 30, 1912 on a farm northeast of Winfield, he was the son of Walter A. and Bernice H. (Young) Lowe. He attended Harmony district grade school and graduated from the Winfield High School in 1930.
He was united in marriage on October 22, 1933 to Grace Womacks in Winfield. The couple made their home in rural Burden and Bud was a lifelong farmer and rancher. The Lowe's had resided on their farm for 73 years before moving to Cumbernauld this summer.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Bud was also a life member of the Winfield Elks Club and had served on the Soil Conservation and Co-op Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and water skiing.

His grandchildren: Janna Nichols and husband Larry of Tulsa, OK; Kyle Russell and wife Debbie of Derby, Ks; Kayla Hammer and husband Philip of Panhandle, TX; and Lance Kunneman and wife Donna of Okarche, OK;
His great-grandchildren: Adam, Erik and Lauren Russell, Kelby and Avery Nichols, Sarah and Travis Hammer, and Macy and Zachary Kunneman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carol Lowe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the New Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, November 16, 2007. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.
A memorial has been established in Bud's name for the First Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
