FAYE EDITH TRAPP, 94, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, November 20, 2009 at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita.
Born June 10, 1915 in Ellsworth, Kansas, she was the daughter of Peter William and Edith Belle (Adamson) White. She was raised and received her education in Ellsworth and Wichita.
Faye was united in marriage to Clarence Trapp on September 4, 1936 in the St. Paul's Lutheran Parsonage in Lincoln, Kansas. The couple made their home in Lincoln and later moved to Tescott, Kansas. Faye called herself "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. After World War II the couple lived in Sarasota, Florida for about six years. They then moved back to the Wichita area and later to Melbourne, Arkansas until 1976. The couple moved to Winfield to be close to family when Mr. Trapp's health began to fail. Clarence preceded Faye in death on September 25, 2001.
Faye worked as a sheet metal mechanic for a number of Aircraft industries including Assner Aircraft and Cessna Aircraft. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and reading. She loved to talk and laugh with family and friends.

Her nieces and nephews: Darlene and Norman Slechta of Ellsworth, KS; Laura and Gary Pejsha of Nevada, IA; Judy and Terry Moore of Ponca City, OK; Donna Brewer of Wilson, KS; Stanley and Lorelei Ray of Lyons, KS; Barbara and John Hutchison of Great Bend, KS; Sharon Wells of Urban, MO; Roger and Mary White of Derby, KS; Kenny Rathbun of Wichita, KS; Alene and Ray Catlin of Oklahoma City, OK; and a number of other nieces and nephews; and
Her loving family friend and heart adopted daughter: Vickie Calvin and husband Roger.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her son, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Winfield.
Memorials have been established in Mrs. Trapp's name for the American Heart Association and for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
