Evelyn Eileen Pudden, 75, of Dexter, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 18, 2020.

Born December 27, 1944 in Arkansas City, she was the daughter of Patrick, Sr. and Mildred (Judd) Henry.  She was raised and received her education in Dexter, graduating from Dexter High School in 1962.

Evelyn married Robert Evinger.  To this union, two daughters were born. The couple later divorced.  She was united in marriage to Russell Pudden on February 25, 1983 in Dexter.  The couple made Dexter their home.

As a young woman, Evelyn worked with her father in Henry's Candy Company in Dexter.  Upon his death in 1989, she assumed ownership and operated the business.  She loved her work.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1968.

Her family includes her husband Russell of Dexter; her daughters, Tammie Evinger of Dexter; Robyn Evinger of Dexter; her sister, Lucille Henry of Winfield; several nieces and nephews; and her granddogs.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Henry, Jr.; her sister, Rebecca Sue Pinkston; and her nephew, Shawn Henry.

Private graveside services were held at Dexter Cemetery.  Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Evelyn's name for the American Diabetes Association.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
