Evelyn Crane, 82, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, January 10, 2023, at her home.

Born September 23, 1940, in Winfield, she was the daughter of George and Grace (Defore) Reuther. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1958. Evelyn was united in marriage to Roy Crane on May 29, 1958, at the Church of Christ Parsonage in Winfield. The couple made their home on a farm south of Winfield.

Evelyn made her lifelong career as a farm wife, taking care of the family and working on the farm. She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Arkansas City. She loved to sing and enjoyed gardening. She made the best homemade bread.

Her family includes her husband Roy Crane of Winfield; her children, Walter Crane and wife, Cara of Arkansas City; Lois Stone and husband, David of Winfield; Elizabeth Earls of Winfield; her siblings, Jim Reuther and wife, Diane of Derby; Georgetta Fletcher and husband, Murray of Canada; her grandchildren, Richard Crane, Shelly Squires, Steven Crane, Diana Dillon, Ashley Lawson, Trent Stone, Kayla Fleitz, Hannah Crane, Kitra Sims, Connie Crane, Albert Crane Jr., Casey Crane, Nevaeh Earls; 20 great grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a son Albert L. Crane, two great grandchildren, Steven Crane, Jr. and Letty Crane, and two sisters, Patricia Reuther and Sue Tucker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Church of Christ in Arkansas City. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established in Evelyn's name for the Alzheimer's Association and for Gentiva Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
