Eugene Earl "Bud" Shields, Jr., 69, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at his home.
Born April 21, 1954, in Winfield, he was the son of Eugene E. Sr., and Myrta "Peggy" (Warren) Shields. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1972. Bud began working for the City of Winfield at the Water Treatment Plant at the age of 21, retiring 34 years later.
Bud was a member of Tisdale Methodist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, companion, and friend. He loved going to his grandchildren's events and never missed one. He had a beautiful voice and sang at many services. He also enjoyed going to the casino.
His family includes his sons, MSgt. Eric Shields and wife, Cel of Mulvane; Retired MSgt. Ryan Shields of Melbourne, FL; his daughter Lacy Shields-Collins and husband, Jason of Mulvane; his sister Peggy Brown and husband, Al of Arkansas City; his grandchildren, Cayden and Caleb Shields, Chase Shields, and Connor and Carly Collins; his great granddaughters, Marleah and Breeland; his brother-in-law Jerry Conrad of Winfield; his number one daughter Bella (fur baby); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a son Michael Shields and a sister Edna Conrad.
The family will hold memorial services at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Tisdale Methodist Church.
A memorial has been established in Bud's name for Tisdale Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
