Eric Michael Andes, 49, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022, due to a motor vehicle accident.
Born July 28, 1973, in Winfield, he was the son of Tommy Joe and Sharon (Wall) Andes. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1991. While in high school, Eric was a four time letterman in wrestling, qualifying for state all four years. After high school, he attended Cowley County Community College, earning an Associate's degree before transferring to Pittsburg State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business in 1996. While at Pittsburg State, Eric was active in the ROTC program and upon graduation, entered the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Eric returned to Winfield, where he became a licensed Real Estate Agent, and began working with his brother, Ryan at Eastside Homes and Factory Outlet in Wichita. He later attended culinary school in San Antonio, Texas, returning to Winfield to be near family upon completion. Eric enjoyed cooking and was currently running his own catering business, Red, White and Blue BBQ. In addition to cooking, he enjoyed weight training and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
His family includes his son Blake Andes and wife, Gabby; his daughter Taylor Andes; his parents, Tommy and Sharon Andes; his brother Ryan Andes; two grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by a brother Jeffery Todd Andes.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Eric's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
