Obituary

EMILY HOEPPNER, 97, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, February 1, 2013 at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.

Born on December 4, 1915 in Indiana, she was the daughter of Paul and Susan (Michalicka) Minarcini. She received her education in RibLake, Wisconsin. As a young woman she cleaned houses and later worked at General Electric in Chicago, Illinois.

She was united in marriage on October 22, 1941 to Howard John Hoeppner in Chicago. Emily continued working at General Electric while Howard served in the military for the next 5 years. Mr. Hoeppner preceded her in death on June 11, 1991 and she had resided in Winfield since last year. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.

Her family includes:
Her daughters: Sue Smith and husband Bill of Dexter, KS; Valerie Hicks and husband Gary of Margate, FL; Julie Hoeppner of Vincennes, IN; and Patty Leaf and husband Ken of Littleton, CO;
Her son-in-law: Jay English of Roscoe, ILL;
Her brother: Ronald Minarcini of Marco Island, FL;
Her sister: Pauline Koeffler of McHenry, ILL;
Her 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl English; her brother, Paul Minarcini; and her sister, Dorothy Joras.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst Illinois. Miles Funeral Service in Winfield is in charge of local arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Emily's name for the Heritage Ranch Camp in Dexter. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
