ELMA M. HULL, 83, of Dexter, Kansas, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday night, April 5, 2011 at the Dexter Care Center.
Elma was born April 30, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Harlen "H.J." and Juanita Huggins. She was raised and received her education in Wichita, Kansas.
Elma was united in marriage to Ernest L. "Ernie" Hull on August 10, 1943 in Sedan, Kansas. Their family resided in Cedar Vale and Grenola and later Cloverdale until 1949 when they moved to Douglass, Kansas. They then moved to Grand Summit, Kansas in 1957 and retired to Cambridge in 1994. Ernie preceded her in death on October 19, 2006.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Cambridge and the O.U.R. Ladies Club since 1951, as well as the Cambridge Community Club, the Cambridge 4-H, and the EHU. Elma sold Avon and Tupperware for several years. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, cook and driver as well as many other things. In addition to raising her own children, she raised her two nephews, Mike and Bob. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and playing cards and was an excellent seamstress.

Her sons: Ernie and wife, Kay; John and wife, Kathy; Jeff and wife, Luinda; and Mark and wife, Kelly all of Cambridge;
Her daughter: Marsha Hull-Pate of Cambridge;
Her brother: Maxwell Huggins; and
Her 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elma was preceded in death by her son, Donald E. Hull, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, her brother, Kenneth Huggins and her son-in-law, Walter Pate.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at the Cambridge Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening from 5 to 7. The family will greet visitors during this time.
Memorials have been established in Mrs. Hull's name for the Dexter Care Center and for Rivercross Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
