Obituary

ELIZABETH IVA TAYLOR, 96, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, October 6, 2014 at her home.

Born February 11, 1918 in Hope, Kansas, she was the daughter of John Franklin and Sylvia Josephine (Williams) Ebberts. She was raised and received her education in Greenwood County. She was a winner in sports and in school.

Elizabeth was united in marriage to Henry Clifford Taylor on May 5, 1935 in Little River, Kansas. The couple made their first home on a farm near Severy, Kansas. They later moved to Latham and then to a farm in Burden. Elizabeth was a homemaker and housewife. She loved to sew, craft, garden and keep herself busy. She was very musically talented. She played the accordian, mandolin and the piano. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death on June 14, 1988.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Kay Taylor of Burden, Kansas; Randy Taylor and wife, Arlene of Hallsville, Texas;
Her daughter: Denzel Struthers and husband, Ralph of Clearwater, Kansas;
Her 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Eldon Taylor, her brothers, Gene and Ralph Ebberts and her sister, Lenora "Nonie" Ebberts.

Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time. A private family inurnment will occur at a later date.

A Memorial has been established in Elizabeth's name to help her family with medical expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
