ELEANOR M, KREPPS, 94, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 9, 2011 at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.
Born on December 21, 1916 in Wilmot, Kansas, she was the daughter of Elmer Lawrence and Verlye Maude (Jones) Smith. Eleanor received her education in Wilmot, Udall and Winfield.
She was united in marriage on February 28, 1936 to Floyd Krepps in Winfield. The couple made their home on a farm north of Winfield until 1958 when they moved into town. They owned and operated Floyd's Carry Out restaurant and she later began working at J.C.Penney as a clerk until retiring in 1986. Mr. Krepps preceded her in death on April 23, 1978. She volunteered for South Central Kansas Agency on Aging, Friendship Meals, and was a pink lady for William Newton Memorial Hospital. She had also served as president of the hospital auxiliary.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield where she had served as a deacon. Eleanor also was secretary and treasurer for the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers and Pickers. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, reading, flowers, crafts and traveling.

Her great-grandchildren: Logan Dick, Leslie Dick, Breanna Hasten, Kayla Thompson and Blake Hasten;
Her sister: Mary Manning and husband Max of Topeka, KS;
Her sister-in-law: Edith Krepps of Winfield, KS: and
Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Dick; her brother, Ray Smith, and her sister, Dorothy Bannon.
Funeral services held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2011.
A memorial has been established in Eleanor's name for the First Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
