EDWIN D. RUMBAUGH, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, June 1, 2014 at William Newton Hospital.
Born on January 6, 1925 in Topeka, Kansas, he was the son of Edwin Dave and Nellie Ruth (Winans) Rumbaugh and joined siblings Opal and Rachel. He resided at the Topeka State Hospital from age 16 to 55 and then lived in the Norton State Hospital. In 1991, Ed moved to Hays and in 1994 moved to Winfield and resided at Focus Developmental Services until the late 1990's. He's been a resident of Southwind Rescare since that time.
Ed enjoyed arts and crafts, drawing, writing, music and the outdoors. He was known for collecting pens and markers.
Survivors include his guardian, caregivers and friends at Southwind Rescare.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Miles Funeral Service. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 5, 2014. His cremains will be buried at a later date at the Buster Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Kansas.
