November 25, 1949 – January 24, 2021
Edward A. Fain, 71, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 24, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.
Born November 25, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of Alton A. and Caral R. (Marx) Fain. When he was young, the family moved to Venice, California before settling in Tucson, Arizona. Edward was raised and received his education in Tucson, graduating from Palo Verde High School in 1967. He always dreamed of being in the military and following high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marines, Edward proudly served his country in Vietnam. After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Tucson.
Edward enjoyed spending time in the deserts of Arizona and Utah. He took great comfort in his family and throughout his life, spent time living with each of his four sisters. Edward worked several jobs in his lifetime, including working in bike shops. He also enjoyed volunteering with Boy Scouts of America. In 1995, he moved to Wichita, Kansas to be near his mother. While in Wichita, he worked as a cable installer for Cable Vision. Edward rode his bike everywhere. In addition to riding his bike, he enjoyed woodworking, art, and researching genealogy.
His family includes his four sisters, Ellen Honeycutt of Gilbert, AZ; Linda Houser of Apache Junction, AZ; Sandra Fain of Apache Junction, AZ; Laurie Anderson and husband, Darrell of Wichita; and many nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents.
Military Committal Honors will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
A memorial has been established in Edward's name for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
