Obituary

EDNA FAYE FOOTE, 73, of South Haven, passed away Thursday evening, January 28, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita surrounded by her family.

Born December 30, 1937 in Tea Garden, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Charlie and Velma "Nano" (Downen) Powell. She was raised and educated in various areas of south central Kansas. Edna Faye received her GED and was very proud of it. She worked in machine shops in injection molding and de-burring, but made her career taking care of her family.

She was united in marriage to James A. Foote on December 14, 1991 in Augusta, Kansas. The couple made their home in Arkansas City and later in 2006, moved to South Haven. Edna Faye was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Wellington. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, riding the motorcycle, collecting dolls and quilting. She also loved fishing.

Her daughters: Sandy Amos and husband, Josh of Arkansas City; Candy Dedman of Winfield; and Liza Knottek and husband, Robert of Lawton, OK;
Her brother: Chuck Powell and wife, Marilyn of Rose Hill;
Her grandchildren: Abby Kennedy, Casey Dunn, Brandon Dunn and Jared Dunn all of Arkansas City; Matthew Dedman of Winfield; and Jamie and Bryce Knottek of Lawton, OK;
Her 7 great-grandchildren;
Her niece and nephew: Randy Powell of Wichita and Cheryl Burnham of Oak Point, TX; and
Her 7 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edna Faye was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy and her grandson, Jordan Kennedy.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Latham Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4 to 8.

A Memorial has been established in Mrs. Foote's name for the Wichita Ronald McDonald Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
