EDGAR F. "ED" SISSON, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, August 29, 2014 at William Newton Hospital.
Born August 23, 1925 in Bucklin, Kansas, he was the son of Frank and Agnes (Ramsdale) Sisson. He was raised and received his education in Bucklin and Oxford, Kansas and graduated from Oxford High School in 1943.
Ed was united in marriage to Doris E. McDaniel on August 3, 1946 at the Slate Valley Baptist Church in Oxford. The couple lived in Wichita and Dodge City before making their home in Winfield in 1960.
Mr. Sisson worked in sales in auto parts stores. He retired at the of 65 in 1990. He continued to work part time even after retirement. He and Doris were members of the First Christian Church in Winfield. Doris preceded him in death on March 27, 2009.
Ed was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed landscaping and always had a beautiful yard. He and Doris loved to travel and go out with friends. He also enjoyed boating. Ed adored his family and spending time with them. He never missed a grandchild's performance or game.

His daughters: Janet Scherdin of Wichita; and Ellen Johnson Hill and husband, Frank of Manhattan;
His daughter-in-law: Sandy Sisson of Branson;
His sister: Jean Kaufman of Medicine Lodge;
His grandchildren: Scott, Matthew, Nicholas, Jordan, Sean, Carrie, Christopher, Jessica and Amber;
His step grandchildren: Joshua, David and Ryan Hill; and
His 10 great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Sisson, and his sisters, Helen Brehm, Elizabeth O'Keefe, Louise Gann and Carol Williamson.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church in Winfield. Interment and Military Committal Honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 that evening.
A Memorial has been established in Mr. Sisson's name for the First Christian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
