Obituary

Earnie "Jack Nash"

It's been said you were born years too late; And maybe that is true. There certainly are things you've longed for that are untasted, like tomorrow's dew.

You seek, like the first pioneer, freedom, open spaces, frontiers to breach.
Yu seek the gobbler, the wolf, the buck…
Not for their life; but for yours.
In your search, your soul heals to the sound of peepers, awake from sleeping, the sound of feathered wings, downward rushing, from lofty pines straining, hushing. You are keen to the mouth of the running dogs, to the pant of the coyote – that bring a natural order to life.
You long to stride toward that distant timber line, searching for signs of simple life; for the unknown; for things clean and new.

When life's raucous pace; when the discordant roar of the world around you dims hope, you are one whose very existence must seek peace on some distant hill, where time, life ruling time is hourless, is still.

You week a valley, ancient, yet new; far yet near; miles from clocks and crowds. You seek a haven beneath sun and clouds.
In your heart you would go back to a simpler time. Back to better things than greed born bickering's. In your heart, you would go back to old fashioned virtue, to solid fundamental things; to plain good friendliness. You would go back to hitching a team to a plow; working a field, and rejoicing at the sign of it greening; back to the old paths in the fields and woods, where joy is found in the newness of spring, and a summer of wondering free and content is all the wealth you need.
