DONNA LEAKE, 79, of Winfield, passed away Friday evening, December 26, 2008, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.
Born on July 28, 1929 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Roy and Josephine (Hall) Vaughn. She was raised and educated in the Winfield area, graduating from Winfield High School.
She was united in marriage to Keith Leake in Winfield, on February 14, 1954 at the First Christian Church. Donna worked as a bookkeeper for William Newton Hospital and later for the family company, Big Four Well Service.
She was a member of the First Christian Church. She and Keith loved to bowl and fish when they were younger. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, embroidery, making baby quilts, and her latest hobby was playing the slot machines at the casinos.

Her brother: Richard Vaughn and wife, Norma of Washington;
Her sister: Judy Kukuk and husband, Pete of Winfield; and
Her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Rick, a brother, Allen, a sister, Ila King, an infant sister Ethel Rita, and her infant grandchildren, Tiffany and Aaron.
Double funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday, January 1, from noon to 4:00 P.M.
A Memorial has been established in Mrs. Leake's name for the Winfield Food Pantry. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
