Donna Lee Jones, 60, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, January 16, 2022, at her home.

Born February 7, 1961, in Orange, California, she was the daughter of Edward Lee Jones and Shirley (Bromlow) Carle.  She was raised and received her education in Blanchard, Oklahoma, graduating from Blanchard High School in 1979.  Following high school, she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked as a meat packer and later at Circle K.

In 1988, Donna moved to Winfield, Kansas, working first at Wheeler IGA before starting her career at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in 1991.  Due to health concerns, Donna retired from the state hospital as a nurse's aide in 2001.

She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, attending family gatherings, and playing bingo at the casino with Barbara.

Her family includes her sons, Steven Jones of Yukon, OK; Curtis Jones of Winfield; Tyler Jones and wife, Belinda, of Cambridge; her brothers, George Jones and wife, Diane, of Blanchard, OK; Donnie Ledford and wife, Andrea, of Hesston; Kinnie Ledford and wife, Michelle, of Winfield; and her grandchildren, Xander Chambers, Kolby Chambers, Ryvir Jones, Lylah Jones, and Coop the granddog.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Betty McKnight.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.  Private family burial will take place at a later date.   A visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the funeral home.  The family will greet visitors during this time.

A memorial has been established in Donna's name for the Cowley County Humane Society.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
