Obituary

Donna Faye Jackson, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Friday morning, August 15, 2025, at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born February 9, 1940, in Anthony, Kansas, she was the daughter of John "Harold" and Alice (Stewart) Mortimer.  She was raised and received her early education in Anthony.  The family later moved to a farm in the Wilmot community and Donna attended Atlanta High School, graduating in 1958.  She married Larry McCaslin, to this union two sons were born, and the couple later divorced.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Jackson on February 25, 1966, in Winfield.  The couple made their home in Winfield where Donna worked for a short time at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.  In 1966, she began her career at Binney & Smith, where she remained for over 30 years, retiring as Paint Supervisor in 1997.  After retirement, she volunteered at the Eagle's Nest and later became Gayle's assistant.  Kenneth preceded her in death in 1997.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Women's Church United, Ladies American Legion Auxiliary, and the 8&40 Club.  She enjoyed bowling, cross-stitch, gardening, painting, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her family includes her children, Greg McCaslin and wife, Teresa of Winfield; Donald McCaslin of Koshkonong, MO; Kendra Mansfield of Arkansas City; Terri Blessent of Frontenac; her step-children, Allen Jackson and wife, Pattie of Marietta, GA; Wanda Mitchell of Marietta, GA; her brothers, Duane Mortimer and wife, Karen of Winfield; Harold "Mort" Mortimer and wife, Linda of Wichita; her sisters, Wanda Squib of Wichita; Carolyn Lefler of Wichita; Mary Dennett and husband, Virgil of Winfield; sister-in-law Dorothy Broce of Lost Springs; her grandchildren, Zachary McCaslin and wife, Melissa of Winfield; Seth McCaslin and husband, Chris of St. Joe, MO; Dalton Mansfield of Arkansas City; Logan Mansfield of Arkansas City; Benjamin Blessent and wife, Kayla of Frontenac; Bethany Blessent of Frontenac; Kevin Jackson of Marietta, GA; Kurtis Jackson and wife, Lauren of Marietta, GA; Marina Jackson of Marietta, GA; her great grandchildren, Ansley McCaslin of Winfield; Karson McCaslin of Winfield; Noah Jackson of Marietta, GA; Asher Jackson of Marietta, GA; Rayleigh Blessent of Frontenac; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Mortimer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.  Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery.  A luncheon for friends and family will follow at the New Salem Community Building.  A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 P.M.  The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Donna's name for the 8&40 Group 321 Departmentaul #5.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.  The mission of the 8&40 is to support children with upper respiratory and lung diseases.
