Obituary

DONNA GOEBEL, 83, of Winfield, formerly of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society in Winfield.

Born June 28, 1929 in Hutchinson, Kansas, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mamie (Ray) Glaze. She was raised and educated in Hutchinson, graduating from Hutchinson High School.

Donna was united in marriage to Leslie Keith Goebel on December 23, 1946 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. They lived in Alva, Oklahoma for a short time and moved to Wichita, Kansas. While in Wichita, Donna worked at a drugstore and also did ironing and laundry for Coleman and Boeing. They left Wichita in 1961, and moved to Farmington, New Mexico and later to a ranch in Bloomfield, New Mexico. Donna made her career as a housewife, and loved to take care of her family. Mr. Goebel preceded her in death in July 9, 2001. Mrs. Goebel moved to the Winfield and Burden areas in 2007.

She enjoyed collecting antiques, riding horses and roping. She loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves and never missed the Connie Mack World Series. She especially enjoyed her grandkids and spending time with her family.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Dennis Goebel and wife, Terri of Burden, Kansas; Randy Leon Geobel of Bloomfield, New Mexico;
Her daughter: Glenda Lee White of Burden, Kansas;
Her son-in-law: Jack Beasley of Farmington, New Mexico;
Her "adopted" son: Mike Prater of Burden, Kansas;
Her grandchildren: Casey, Scott, Todd, Amanda, Amy, John, Heather and Allie; and
Numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Faye, and her brothers, Jack, Kenneth and Richard.

Local funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. A funeral service will take place at a later date at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington, New Mexico. Interment will take place at the Bloomfield Cemetery.

A Memorial has been established in Donna's name at Emerald Bank for her Grandchildren's Education Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
