Donald Eugene Moore, 59, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Wesley Medical Center.
Born December 21, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Everett Wesley and Mary Ann (Hamilton) Moore. He was raised and received his education in Douglass, Kansas, graduated Douglass High School in 1977. Following high school, Don attended Pittsburg State University and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in 1981. He began his career at Bodkins Auto in Winfield as an auto technician.
Don was united in marriage to Sharon Fickle on August 16, 1986 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. He remained with Bodkins Auto when it became Merle Snider Auto and had worked there for almost 40 years.
Don was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed playing disc golf, volleyball, and hunting morel mushrooms. He especially loved fishing and helping his nieces with fishing and hunting.
His family includes his wife, Sharon Moore of Winfield; his son Jaryd Moore of Wichita; his brother Rodney Moore of El Dorado; his sisters, Becky Moore of Douglass; Betty Haunschild and husband Bryan and their daughters, Bailey, Brookelynn, and Megan all of Winfield; Kathryn Perez and husband, Matt of Augusta; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Timothy Moore.
Services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials have been established in Don's name for the Joe Thornton Memorial Scholarship Fund and for First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
