DONALD M. "DON" KLINE, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, October 11, 2014 at Cumbernauld Village.
Born August 29, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Arthur C. and Martha H. (Harris) Kline. He was raised and educated in the Marion and Great Bend, Kansas areas. Don left school prior to graduation to join the United States Navy. He proudly served his country on the USS Monrovia as a Medical Corpsman from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1949.
Don was united in marriage to Virginia Miller on April 24, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend, Kansas. The couple lived in Great Bend and moved to Winfield in 1963. They purchased and opened Kline Motors Ford and became Lincoln Mercury in 1972. He retired in 1993.
Mr. Kline was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winfield, as well the American Legion and the Elk's Club. He was also an active member of the KADA formerly KMCDA and served as president in 1992. He was a member of the Winfield Country Club, was an avid boater and loved the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a cheerleader in high school.

His sisters: June Hull of Emporia, KS; Jane Cherveny of Winfield;
His grandchildren: Joshua, Jeremy, Lisa, Sean and Jasper;
His great grandchildren: Wyatt, Riley, Grace, Roman, Luke, Shelby, Caroline, Riley, Morgan, Isaiah and Benjamin; and
His granddog: Zippy.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, Pauline, Elizabeth, Betty, Dale and Robert.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Interment and Military Committal honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.
Memorials have been established in Mr. Kline's name for the First Presbyterian Church and for the American Legion. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
