DONALD H. FOX, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Don was born April 28, 1925 to John and Faye Fox. He was raised on a farm east of Winfield. Don attended Fairview Rural Country School. He joined the United States Navy in 1944 and served on the USS General E.T.Collins ship during WWII. Don received the American Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal of Honor and was honorably discharged in May 1946.
After returning home from the service he started farming with his family. A few years later he started working in the oilfield. Don later became the store manager of J & L Drilling Supplies and Flour Supply Company. Don retired in 1990.
With his first wife Don had two children, Nelson and Judy. On February 5, 1966 Don married Marjorie J. Craft. The couple made their home in Winfield and were married for 49 years.
Don was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Winfield. His joys in life were his children, grandchildren and extended family. He was truly a family man.
Don was preceded in death by his father, John Fox and mother, Faye Fox, and two sisters, Opal Helms and Ernstine Morlan.

His son: Nelson Fox and wife, Barbara of Richland, WA;
His daughter: Judy Flock of Winfield, KS;
His grandchildren: Brady Flock of Wichita, KS; Megan Randolph and husband, James of Winfield, KS;
Three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, including Noah Randolph, the joy of his life;
His brothers: Raymond Fox and wife, Marjorie; and Ralph Fox and wife, Gwen all of Winfield, KS;
Many nieces, nephews and extended family that will greatly miss him..
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service. Military committal honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. Fiends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 6:30 that evening.
A Memorial has been established in Don's name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
