DONALD MAX FOLTZ, 90, retired Boeing employee, of Dexter, Kansas, passed away early Friday morning, September 9, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born May 17, 1921 in Hoosier, Kansas, he was the son of Edwin S. and Dora Grace (Minor) Foltz. He was raised and educated in the Dexter/Cedar Vale area, and graduated from Cedar Vale High School.
Don served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Mable Pauline Kackley on February 6, 1944 in Wichita. The couple made their home in Wichita. Mable preceded him in death on November 14, 1972. Don worked at Cessna Aircraft for a short time before becoming employed with Boeing Aircraft Company on September 10, 1948. He worked as a tool coordinator. Don married Jennabeth Chambers on October 20, 1976 in Wichita. He retired from Boeing in 1986. The couple moved back to Don's home place where he took care of the farm.
Don loved flying private airplanes. He rebuilt his own plane when his children were younger. He was a member of Hicks Chapel United Methodist Church. He especially loved the Lord.

His sons: Gary Foltz and wife, Shirley of Dexter; and Roger Foltz and wife, Glenda of Derby;
His daughters: Mrilyn Whisenhant and husband, Larry of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and Sherry Hughart and husband, Romie of Union, West Virginia;
His step-daughters: Rose Ann Lunt and husband, Phil of Pratt; and Elaine Nolte and husband, Tom of Wichita;
His 10 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, and his first wife, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene L. Foltz.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Maple City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors during this time.
Memorials have been established in Donald's name for Good Samaritan Village and for Hicks Chapel United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
