DONALD D. DONLEY, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, previously a longtime resident of Rock, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, September 12, 2012 at Cumbernauld Village.

Born November 29, 1931 in Rock, Kansas, he was the son of Paul and Edna (Barnett) Donley. He was raised in Rock and received his education in Atlanta. He graduated Atlanta High School in 1949. Don worked on the ranch, in oil fields and in construction as a young man.

After high school, Donald was drafted to the United States Army. He served two years, one of which in Japan and was honorably discharged. He returned home and attended and graduated Kansas State University in 1959 and received his Master's Degree from Wichita State University in 1971.

Mr. Donley was united in marriage to Wanda Bradbury on July 12, 1959 at Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Manhattan for two years, then moved to Louisburg for seven years. They made their home in Rock, Kansas for 44 years, and moved to Winfield in 2010.

Don was a farmer and a rancher. He made his career as a teacher, first a Vo Ag teacher for seven years, then a math teacher for six years and finally a guidance counselor for 19 years. He retired from teaching in 1992.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was on the Conservation Board for 15 years, KNEA for 32 years, the Guidance Counselor Group for 19 years and belonged to the Cowley County Landowners for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved farming and his Angus Cattle. He especially enjoyed his family, mostly his grandchildren.

His brother: Lawrence Donley and wife, Dorothy of Rock, KS;
His grandchildren: Justin Donley and wife, Shannon; Michelle Donley; Tabitha Donley; Adam Donley; Mara Donley; Luke Donley; and Paul Donley.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Edna, and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Hope Donley.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Stalter Cemetery in Rock. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4.

Memorials have been established in Don's name for Grace United Methodist Church and for the Cumbernauld Village Employee Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
