Donald "Don" Crabtree, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, November 28, 2020 at William Newton Hospital.

Born March 28, 1936 in Winfield, he was the son of Vernie and Mary "Irene" (Starlin) Crabtree. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. After high school, Don joined the Kansas National Guard.

He was united in marriage to Beverly McCaslin on November 28, 1957 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield where they celebrated 63 years of marriage. Don worked at Collier's Service before beginning his career in the aircraft industry at Boeing. He later worked for Kelley Service and then Cessna Aircraft. He was at Cessna for over 30 years, working in several positions including supervisor, and retired as a sheet metal worker. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, camping, fishing, woodworking, going to the casinos, and spending time with his grandkids.

His family includes his wife Beverly Crabtree of Winfield; his son Gary Crabtree and wife, Judy of Winfield; his daughter Paula Straughn and husband, Ed of Winfield; his sister Mary Jane Crabtree of Oxford; his grandchildren, Chris Vanderbur; Derek Wallace and wife, Jessica; Josh Wallace; Kaysha Topper and husband, Kevin; Justin Crabtree; Mandy Finney and husband, Matt; Brandy Crabtree; his great grandchildren, Damian, Alexes, Nevaeh, Koben, Madison, Bexley, Piper, Boston, Julian, Lux, Alanah, Adam, Aiden, Alexis, Aubree, his brothers-in-law, Larry McCaslin and wife, Linda; Raymond McCaslin; Don Watts; sisters-in-law, Ladena Van Eman; his aunt Chalea Starlin; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Henry and Erma Lee McCaslin, sisters-in-law, Winona Watts and Marilyn McCaslin, brother-in-law Ronnie McCaslin, and a nephew Terry McCaslin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Central Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A memorial has been established in Don's name for Winfield Relay for Life. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
