DONALD D. CAYWOOD, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday evening, June 27, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society in Winfield.
Born on September 7, 1925 in Emporia, Kansas, he was the son of Dallas L. and Ruby C. (Uhlman) Caywood. He was raised and received his education in Emporia.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Caywood proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a SK3C from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946.
He was united in marriage to Audrey O. Houk on May 1, 1949 at First Methodist Church in Emporia, Kansas where they made their first home. Don was employed for KPL Gas Department for 5 years in Emporia, Kansas. He later worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone then AT & T as a lineman. He retired on April 2, 1981 following 30 years of service.
He was a member of AARP, CWA and Telephone Pioneers of America. Don was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, boating and camping.

His aunt: Jo Ann Rawley and sons; and
Many nieces nephews and aunts.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ed and his sister, June.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Don's name for Harden Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
