Delores F. Metz, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, December 23, 2020 at William Newton Hospital.

Born January 11, 1931 in Latham, Kansas, she was the daughter of Samuel C. and Ora (King) Wright. She was raised and received her education in Latham.

Delores was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Metz on June 8, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Winfield. Delores made her life as a homemaker. Kenneth preceded her in death on August 17, 2003.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Winfield and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed going to her family's sporting events and concerts.

Her family includes her children, Karen L. King of Winfield; Kenneth S. Metz and wife, Natalie of Topeka; Cindy Carter and husband, Sheldon of Oxford; her nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Delores was preceded in death by her brother Sam Wright, and two sisters, Lois Starkey and Louise Wright.

Private family services will be held at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Delores' name for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
