Delores I. Hopper, 79, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2015 at William Newton Hospital.
Born July 29, 1936 near Arkansas City, Kansas, she was the daughter of George E. and Cleo M. (Kadau) Hurley. She was raised and received her early education in Dexter and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. She then attended Cowley County Community College before going to Cosmetology School. Delores worked as a medication aide for over 28 years at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.
She was a member of the Dexter Christian Church. She enjoyed attending the Alumni Banquet each year for Cambridge High School.

Her son: Mike Hopper and wife, Rose of Burden;
Her daughter: Carleta Bolack of Burden;
Her sisters: Evelyn Wisneski of Redondo Beach, CA; Valeta Sandborn of Winfield; Marilyn Varner of Wichita;
Her grandchildren: Veronica Childs, Alex Bolack, Nathan Bolack, Rebecca Hopper, Georganna Hopper, Joe Hopper; and
Her great grandchildren: Xavier and Daphne Childs.
In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by an infant son.
A visitation with viewing will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 that evening. A private family burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Delores' name for Gentiva Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
