Della A. Saar, 88, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, November 8, 2020 at Winfield Senior Living.

Born August 12, 1932, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Charles and Charlotte Naomi (Irons) Senn.  She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1950.  In her youth Della could be found working in the drugstore fountain or in Anthony's clothing store.

Della was united in marriage to Robert C. "Bob" Saar on September 9, 1950, in her parents' home. The couple made their home in Winfield their entire married lives. Della worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita until the couple began having children, at which time she became a homemaker. She later returned to work beginning her career at William Newton Hospital. While at the hospital she worked in X-ray, Physical Therapy, and later became a Certified Dietician. She remained at the hospital until retiring in 1999 as a Certified Dietician.  Bob preceded her in death on August 8, 2002.

Della was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winfield and the Flirts & Skirts Square Dance club.  In addition to square dancing, she enjoyed doing crafts, ceramics, fabric painting, cross-stitching, quilting, and sewing.  She especially loved her pets.

She is survived by her son, Damon Saar of Winfield; her daughter, Dana Hale of Winfield; her grandchildren, DaynaLyne, Apryl, Andulain "Andy", Ganuary, and Autumn; and her 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Della was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lynn Marie Saar.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6.  The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that afternoon.

A memorial has been established in Della's name for Winfield Veterinary Hospital.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
