Debra Sue "Debbie" Hedges, 70, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home.

Born October 31, 1953, she was the daughter of Charles Nixon and Evelyn Jean (Olsen) Hall.  She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School.

She married Derrel Pierce in January of 1974.  The couple raised two children, Jason and Betty and later divorced.  She later married Jim Hedges of Elk City and the couple later divorced.

Debbie began a 30 year career in Human Resources at Target in Austin, Texas.  She was also employed at William Newton Hospital and CCL Easter Seal Capper Foundation, retiring in 2018.  Her most precious time was spent with her granddaughter Chloe and grandson Ziya.

Her family includes her daughter Betty Pierce of Winfield; her grandchildren, Ziya and Chloe Pierce; and her best friends, Tammy Wise and Laura Brake.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her son Jason Pierce, Jason's dog Penny Lane, a granddaughter Haley Dawn Pierce, and her twin brother Curtis C. "Moe" Hall.

The family will hold memorial services at the American Legion at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Debbie's name for her grandchildren's education.  Checks may be made payable to Betty Pierce.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
