Dean V. Watts, 91, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, May 17, 2015 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas.
Born June 25, 1923 in Peck, Kansas, he was the son of Loren and Hattie (Roll) Watts. He was raised and received his education in Douglass, Kansas, graduating from Douglass High School. He then attended Butler County Community College until being drafted into the United States Army.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Dean returned to Douglass and began working for Boeing Aircraft Company. He remained there for over 23 years. Dean was united in marriage to Martha Kephart on March 29, 1969 at the Christian Church in Augusta. The couple made their home in Augusta, where Dean worked for Scholfield Realty as a licensed Real Estate Agent.
He was a member of the Douglass United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, gardening and playing poker.
His family includes:

His son: Troy Watts of Augusta;
His grandson: Dalton Watts of Augusta;
His brother: Eldon Watts of Wichita;
His three step children: Wade Dulin and wife, Linda of Wichita; Karen Yost and husband, Bob of Augusta; Donna Jacot and husband, John of Moline;
His four step grandchildren: Jennifer Crider and husband, John; Paula McAtee and husband, Mike; Doug Pope; Kale Meeks and wife, Melissa; and
Four great grandchildren and two on the way.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his sister, Ramona and brother, Dale.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Old Mission Wichita Park Cemetery Mausoleums, 3424 E 21st Street in Wichita. Miles Funeral Service in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial has been established in Dean's name for RiverCross Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
