Dawn Ronette Jones, 52, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 7, 2019 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

Born January 16, 1967 in San Diego, California, she was the daughter of Edward James and Ann (Thayer) Mark. She was raised primarily in San Diego until her family moved to Inman, Kansas where she graduated high school. Dawn entered the United States Navy on February 18, 1988. She proudly served her country for two years, before receiving an honorable discharge.

Dawn began her career as a CNA working at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Inman. She later attended Mary Grimes School of Nursing and received her Associates Degree in Nursing. She then went to work as an ADN at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

Dawn was united in marriage to Russell Eugene "Rusty" Jones on May 1, 2009. The couple made their home in Neodesha. Mr. Jones preceded her in death on June 19, 2017.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Enterprise, Kansas. In addition to her job, Dawn enjoyed shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family includes her children, Jessica Leddy of Sedan; Jeffrey Leddy and spouse, Kristin of Wichita; Travis Leddy of Kansas City, MO; Katelynn Jones of Independence; Wyspher Wilkes and husband, Travis of Neodesha; her mother Ann Thayer of McPherson; her foster mother Eunice Jensen of Niles, MI; her brothers, Tony Mark of South Hutchinson; Gene Thayer; and her grandchildren, Jeremiah Leddy, Abel Leddy, Lane Wilkes, Bronson Wilkes, and Chesney Wilkes.

In addition to her husband, Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Edward Mark.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Following Dawn's wishes her ashes will be spread next to her husband Rusty in Elk City.

A memorial has been established in Dawn's name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
