David Kevin Newman, 53, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home.

Born July 16, 1963 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Bill and Yvonne (Almquist) Newman. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1981. David then attended and graduated from Southwestern College with his Bachelor's Degree.

He worked in food service for various companies, including Honey Baked Ham for many years. Most recently, he worked for Aaramark Food Service at the Winfield Correctional Facility. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Winfield. He enjoyed watching sports and loved to play golf when he was younger. He had a very sweet and kind personality and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

David's family includes:
His father: Bill Newman of Winfield;
His sister: Debra Clifford and husband, Mark of Winfield;
His brother: Mark Newman and wife, Cindy of Lake Forest Park, WA;
His nieces: Meagan Newman and Amy Clifford; and
His 5 great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, David was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Newman and a nephew, Josh Clifford.

Cremation has been effected. Graveside memorial services will be held at Highland Cemetery on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in David's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
