David Clyde Hatfield, 70, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday afternoon, December 26, 2016 at the Kansas Veterans Home.
Born July 4, 1946 in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of Walter J. and Martha "Jeanne" (Penrose) Hatfield. He was raised and received his education in Arkansas City. He joined the United States Navy on April 28, 1966 and proudly served his country during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on March 24, 1967.
David was united in marriage to Della M. Roeder in Winfield. David worked for Gordon & Piatt and later at Boeing Air Craft as a mechanic and machinist, retiring in 2002.

His daughters: Wendi Hatfield Grey and husband, Mark of Arkansas City; Mandi Patterson and husband, Jeff of Bethany, OK; Brandi Hatfield and husband, Sammy Lucero of Arkansas City; Christy Hatfield of Wichita; Carol Lowe and husband, Scott of Joplin, MO;
His son: Loran C. Hatfield and wife, Melanie of Missouri;
His sisters: Sherri Heffner and husband, Martin of Wichita; and
His 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Swopes.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in David's name for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
