DANNY R. WELLS, 65, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 27, 2011 at his home.
Born May 11, 1945 in Udall, Kansas, he was the son of Gilbert and Dorothy (Satterthwaite) Wells. He was raised and received his education Udall, graduating from Udall High School in 1963. He then attended and graduated from Cowley County Community College and attended Kansas State University.
Danny enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and had his basic training in Ft. Louis Washington in 1967. He was honorably discharged.
He was united in marriage to Chris Knapp on October 24, 1987 in Udall, Kansas. The couple made their home in Udall. He worked for just short of 27 years as a jig builder and retired from Boeing Aircraft. After his retirement, Danny worked for the Wal-Mart Automotive Department. He also worked as a diesel mechanic for various places.
Danny was a former member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Derby. He was also a member of the North American Hunting Club, the American Association of Lutherans and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting, fishing, camping, working on the farm, leather work, and loved working on diesels and woodworking. He was an avid Nascar fan and especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

His brother: Dale Wells and wife, Kristin of Derby;
His grandchildren: Dylan, Alex, Jacob, Gage, Miranda, Kayl, and Cole; and
His nieces and nephews: Brandon and April, Erik, Ryan and Jamie, Shelly and Nathan and Simone, Shilo and Nikki, Jayden and Shawn, and Manda and Izaiah.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert "Gib" Wells.
Memorial Services and Military Committal Honors will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday, February 3, from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.
Memorials have been established in Danny's name for Udall First Responders and for the Cancer Center of Kansas, Winfield Chapter. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
