Dan Khanhankane, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, October 9, 2015 at his home.
Born May 10, 1938 in Sithadone, Laos he was the son of Phang Khanhankane. He was raised and received his education in Sithadone graduating from high school and attending college. After school he joined the Laos Army and served as a Captain.
He was united in marriage to Leume Thispy in Laos. The family made their home in Laos until 1975 when they fled to Thailand during the Communist take over of Laos. In 1979 they moved to Rochester, New York sponsored by the Presbyterian Church. Then in 1983 the family moved to Louisiana and later in 1986 moved to Montgomery, Alabama. In Montgomery Dan began working as an operator for Augat Wiring Systems and remained there until retiring in 1995. After retiring he moved to Winfield, Kansas to be near his children. Mrs. Khanhankane preceded him in death in 1993

His son: Van Khanhankane of Westminster, CA; and
His 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Dan's name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
