Dale O. McConaghy, 78, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Saturday morning, October 29, 2016 at Winfield Senior Living.
Born August 21, 1938 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Frank and Opal (Taylor) McConaghy. He was raised and received his education in Winfield graduating from Winfield High School in 1956.
After school, he began working with cattle and farming southeast of Winfield with his father. He worked as a cattleman the rest of his life. He enjoyed travel to various auctions where he would buy and sell cattle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winfield and attended the Church of Christ in Arkansas City for a short time.
His family includes:
His brother: Noel E. McConaghy and wife, Jim Ann of Belle Plaine;
His niece: Connie Lei Smith and husband, Chris of Ellis; and
His many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn McConaghy Fields.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Following the interment ceremonies there will be a reception at the First Baptist Church in Winfield, where the family will greet visitors.
A memorial has been established in Dale's name for First Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
