Obituary

Dale "Pickle" Lee Wilson, 51, of Arkansas City, passed away Saturday night, July 12, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born April 10, 1974, in El Dorado, he was the son of Howard and Alice (Thomas) Wilson.  He was raised and received his education in Winfield.  Following school, he worked at Rubbermaid and Jiffy Lube for a short time before continuing his education at Cowley College, where he received a certificate in welding. Throughout his career he went on to receive many certifications in automotive repair through Ford Motor Company.

Pickle married Dedra Morton on May 25, 1996 at Island Park in Winfield.  To this union, four children were born.  The couple later divorced.  Pickle spent his career working in the automotive business for several area shops.  In addition to working in a shop with his brothers, he worked at Kline Ford, Reedy Ford, and was recently working at WalMart Automotive.  He enjoyed figure 8 races, demolition derby, fishing, camping, kayaking, and anything outdoors.

His family includes his children, Zabreana Thompson and husband, Tanner of Arkansas City; Sarenity Wilson and partner Joshua Patterson of Arkansas City; Zachary Wilson of Winfield; and Jasmine Wilson of Winfield; his siblings, Ron Wilson of Leon; Sug Moore of Douglass; Dan Wilson of El Dorado; Dean Wilson of El Dorado; Debbie Wilson of Winfield; and his grandchildren, Mya Wilson; River Thompson; and Isaac Patterson.

In addition to his parents, Pickle was preceded in death by a grandson Easton Thompson.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.  Private family interment will take place at Highland Cemetery.
