Cynthia Rebecca Hess, 61, of Winfield, Kansas, left this earth on Tuesday morning, March 13, 2018, to go to the rainbow bridge to gather her animals, then to be with her Lord.

Cindy was born on January 25, 1957 to Francis Hess and Violet (Malloy) French. Over the years she worked at Gott, Winfield State Hospital and Training Center, William Newton Hospital and Kansas Veterans Home. Cindy loved being with her grandkids as much as she could, and also with her daughters and other family. On December 17, 2012 she found out she had terminal cancer, she quit her job at the Kansas Veterans Home. This gave her more time to spend with family and her dogs, Ginger, Gypsy and Mina, they showed her love every day.

Cindy was blessed with two daughters, Melissa Torrance and her husband Jason of Winfield and Katie Scarth of Derby. She is also survived by: her sister: Francene Brooke and her husband, Jay of Lamar, Colorado; her brother: Richard and his wife, Eli of Wichita; her grandchildren: Logan Bach, Ava and Blake Torrance; and two nieces, one nephew, one great niece, and one great nephew.

Cindy request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be given through the funeral home.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
