Curtis R
Gamble
Mar 25, 1939 — Sep 10, 2026
Curtis R. Gamble, 87, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Curt lived a life defined by service, adventure, curiosity, humor, and an unwavering devotion to family. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era before embarking on a successful career with Procter & Gamble, where he worked for many years until his retirement.
Curt was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Gamble (Dave) Albers of Wichita, Kansas; his son, William (Devere) Gamble of Durango, Colorado; his sister, Sally Gamble (Bob) Gailey of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his cherished grandchildren, Logan (Katherine) Albers, Dylan (Avery) Albers, Aiden (Hope) Albers, and Iris Gamble. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory and the countless lives he touched throughout the years.
Curt embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. He was an avid amateur radio operator and a passionate genealogist who delighted in uncovering family history and preserving connections to the past. He found great joy in bicycling, riding ATVs, photography and exploring the outdoors. Whether pursuing a new trail, connecting with friends across the airwaves, taking pictures of beautiful Colorado, or researching family roots, Curt approached every interest with energy, determination, and a genuine love of learning.
More than anything, Curt loved making people laugh. Known to his grandchildren as “Big Grandpa,” he created memories they will treasure forever. He was famous for buying sugary breakfast cereals when he wasn't supposed to, somehow always managing to get away with it. He let his grandsons climb on him like a jungle gym, drove them around on the ATV, took them on adventures across the country, and spoiled them in all the best ways a grandparent can. His relationship with his grandchildren was filled with love, laughter, attention, and time, gifts they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Curt will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his curiosity, his generosity, and his deep love for family. His legacy of kindness, perseverance, humor, and discovery will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
The family invites those who knew Curt to honor his memory by spending time outdoors, planting trees, exploring their family history, sharing stories of adventure, and making meaningful memories with the people they love.
