Coye Dean Thompson, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at his home.
Born December 7, 1936 in Udall, Kansas, he was the son of C.S. "Spide" and Wilma "Billie" (Selvage) Thompson. He was raised and received his education in Atlanta, Kansas, graduating from Atlanta High School in 1955.
After school he went to work as a welder, working for Beech Craft, Boeing, Smith & Moon and Gordon Piatt. Coye was united in marriage to Lynette Kutzbach in 1966 in Elma, Iowa. The couple made their home in Winfield where Coye continued working as a welder. To this union two children were born. The couple later divorced. In 2000 Coye retired from Goron Piatt. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and hunting.

His daughter: Susan Wilson and husband, Kelly of Midwest City, OK;
His grandchildren: Jessica Dever; Arden Thompson; Shelby Wilson; Ashley Wilson;
His brothers: Jack Thompson and wife, Jeanine of Mt. Juliet, TN; Wayne Thompson and wife, Arlene of Otis, KS; Glen Thompson and wife, Lorretta of Garland, TX; and
His numerous nieces and nephews.
Coye was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Coye's name for the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
